Hsinchu, Taiwan, June 24, 2026 — CommonWealth Magazine recently hosted a 1.5 °C Corporate Carbon Reduction Forum and Certification Ceremony, bringing together over 80 leading companies from the tech, manufacturing, finance and service sectors. Recognized for its proven track record in carbon reduction, WNC achieved an Excellent rating in the Temperature Rising Index for Pathways (TRIPS) evaluation and was awarded a 1.5 °C label certificate. Molly Lin, Chief Sustainability Officer of WNC, accepted the award at the ceremony on behalf of the company. This milestone represents WNC’s second major accolade from CommonWealth Magazine, following its second-place ranking in the networking communications sector of the publication’s Taiwan Top 2000 survey.
Established in 2022 through a collaborative partnership between CommonWealth Magazine and Tunghai University, the TRIPS platform is Taiwan’s first climate evaluation platform aligned with the Paris Agreement. The platform evaluates and discloses corporate carbon reduction commitments and transition pathways, and announces results annually. The scale of the evaluation has grown significantly over the years. In 2026, the assessment covered 2,049 companies across 74 distinct sectors. Out of these, 601 companies earned the Excellent rating. Within the networking communications sector, participating companies have committed to individual carbon reduction targets that yield an average projected corporate temperature rating of 1.82°C. While 29 companies in this sector achieved an Excellent rating, only eight have secured SBTi target certification, with WNC among this select group.
WNC has been selected for the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) Emerging Markets Index for the second consecutive year while receiving three A ratings for its responses to CDP’s climate change, water security, and supply chain engagement questionnaires. In addition, WNC has established near-term and net-zero targets across the group based on SBTi methodologies. WNC is committed to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% (base year: 2022) and Scope 3 emissions by 25% (base year: 2023) by 2030. It also aims to reach net-zero emissions across key Scope 3 categories by 2040 and plans to submit an application for SBTi re-validation by 2030.
As the first networking company in Taiwan to join RE100, WNC has pledged to achieve 100% renewable energy usage across its entire group. To support this goal, the company has established an Energy Management Policy and implemented the ISO 50001 energy management system across all global manufacturing sites. It regularly tracks its carbon reduction efficiency and optimizes its energy structures through on-site solar panel installations and the purchase of I-RECs. In 2025, WNC’s renewable energy usage accounted for 34.47% of its total energy consumption, marking a fivefold increase compared to 2022. This milestone lays a solid foundation for achieving net zero for Scope 1 and 2 emissions. By successfully balancing business growth with its carbon reduction goals, WNC has established an example of sustainable development in the networking sector.
